It would be so great if I could stream videos to my Chromecast using gnome-mpv! Either using an internal thing or maybe mkchromecast could be integrated (http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2017/05/mkchromecast-cast-video-from-ubuntu)?

I think this should be implemented as some sort of plugin (perhaps as a cplugin) rather than integrating it directly into gnome-mpv. In any case, it would be difficult for me to work on this as I have neither a chromecast nor a spare monitor/tv to use it with.

Thanks for responding! A plug-in would also be fine with me. I do have a Chromecast so I could do some testing for whoever tries to implement this :)

Hi, I read your comments about this. I have a Chromecast and I use also Linux. You actually CAN use NOW video on Chromecast without MPV like this: Drag and drop the video into the Chrome browser and from the top menu click on "Project on..." and choose Chromecast.

I agree that an option in this program will be welcome, but it's ok at least that we CAN use video on Chromecast on linux.

I attached a PrintScreen.

VLC already has Chromecast support https://www.howtogeek.com/269272/how-to-stream-from-vlc-to-your-chromecast/
