ldifdiff - compare two LDAP entries and output with a format of ldapmodify Synopsis: ldifdiff file1 file2 Description: The ldifdiff is a python program to compare two LDAP entries and generate a LDIF for ldapmodify to modify entries in file1 to entries in file2. Examples: $ cat entry1 dn: cn=Barbara Jensen, dc=example, dc=com objectClass: person cn: Barbara Jensen cn: Babs Jensen sn: Jensen title: the most famous mythical manager mail: bjensen@example.com uid: bjensen $ cat entry2 dn: cn=Barbara Jensen, dc=example, dc=com objectClass: person cn: Barbara Jensen cn: Babs Jensen sn: Jensen title: the world's most famous mythical manager mail: bjensen@example.com uid: bjensen $ ldifdiff entry1 entry2 dn: cn=Barbara Jensen, dc=example, dc=com changetype: modify replace: title title: the world's most famous mythical manager - postprocess - Postprocess ldif-files when using ldapsearch ldapsearch truncates the ldif-files at 78 characters and makes comparison with ldifdiff impossible. Postprocess.py reformats the ldif files for comparison. $ postprocess.py -i input_file.ldif > creates input_file.ldif.postprocessed that can be used with ldifdiff
