Answer of the Universe

"You are only one decision away from a completely different life."

We make dozens of decisions every day — some trivial, others life-changing:

  • "Should I choose this university?"
  • "What if I pursue this major?"
  • "How would it feel to accept this offer?"
  • "Shall I go on a date with that person?"

As a data enthusiast, I often draw insights from data and context to make logical choices. But there are times when decision fatigue sets in, and I just want to let intuition or the universe guide me.
As a technology enthusiast, I wanted to create a tool that merges logic with intuition — a small companion for those moments when overthinking takes over.
As a mere human-being, Answer of the Universe is my solution — a lightweight app designed to help you find clarity, humor, or solace whenever you need it. It’s here to lighten the load and add a sprinkle of serendipity to your day.

Features

  • Randomized Guidance: Instantly get answers to your most pressing (or playful) questions.
  • Simplicity at Its Best: A clean, no-fuss design for quick and easy use.
  • A Moment of Intuition: Step away from overthinking and embrace the unexpected.

How It Works

  1. Think of a question: Frame it in your mind or speak it out loud.
  2. Click the button: Let the app provide an answer, guided by the wisdom of the universe (or actually the pseudo-randomness of the Python God)
  3. Enjoy the journey: Whether the answer resonates or amuses, let it inspire your next step.

How to Use Locally

  1. Clone the repository:
    git clone https://github.com/IrisGun/UniverseAnswer.git
  2. Navigate to the project directory:
    cd UniverseAnswer
  3. Install dependencies:
    pip install -r requirements.txt
  4. Run the app:
    python app.py
  5. Waif for the app to redirect or open a browser and visit http://localhost:5000

Technologies Used

  • Python: Core programming language.
  • Flask: Web framework powering the application.
  • HTML & CSS: Simple, user-friendly interface design.

Suggestions for Improvement

You can always customize and enrich the responses to match your preferences by simply adding new answers to the data. In this public version, I’ve used a spreadsheet for convenience and ease of use. However, you can enhance the app by:

  • Adding more categories to the questions.
  • Creating a structured database for answers by topic to organize them more effectively.
  • Adjusting the tone to match sentiment preferences.

That said, I intentionally kept this project simple — something completely contrasting with the complexity and logic I usually work with. It’s a deliberate choice to keep things lighthearted and intuitive. Adapt it as you see fit!
