| Learning Object | a shareable, self-contained piece of curriculum that has clearly identified learning outcomes, assessment strategies, and instructional strategies. |
| Nanomodule | a Learning Object up to 1 hour in length |
| Micromodule | a Learning Object between 1 and 4 hours in length |
| Module | a Learning Object between 4 and 10 hours in length |
| Unit | a Learning Object over 10 hours in length |
| Course | a Learning Object 15 weeks in length |
| Library | a component that tracks and stores the Learning Objects that a user has downloaded or saved. |
| Learning Outcome | a learning outcome is a precise statement of the student outcomes of the Learning Object based on the Bloom's taxonomy |
