Blocked internet access when Dns protection is on. #5551

Environment

  • OS version: 9
  • Device: Redmi Note 5 Pro

HTTPS filtering

Integration with AdGuard VPN

Issue Details

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Turn off Adguard Dns filter (Optimised) only.
  2. Dns server should come by default Adguard dns non filtering.
    3.need to optimise Adguard Filter (Optimized) so that it can't blocked internet access

Expected Behavior

Actual Behavior

Blocked Internet access when under DNS protection then DNS filters>Adguard DNS Filter (Optimized) is toggle on, even if you use any DNS like Automatic, Adguard DNS, or Public DNS.

*Cause of this issue: When mobile data or WiFi is on and we are accessing internet and Adguard is on than it works fine without any issue, But when we turn off Mobile Data or WiFi but Adguard is on in background because we are now not using internet, but when we need to access internet then we on mobile data or WiFi, then it block internet access.

Solution which i use: 1. Restart your device.
2. Turn off Adguard DNS Filter (Optimised) only, there is no problem of we use Adguard Dns, Non filtering or even Public DNS.

Suggestion: I don't think Adguard DNS filter (Optimised) comes Toggle ON by default because Adguard also mentioned that it cause Problems depending on your Adblock or specific websites. Or we need to optimised so that it can't blocked internet access.

I turn it off Adguard Dns filter (optimised) only, while I am using Dns server that is Adguard DNS Non filtering.

In order to troubleshoot this issue, we need to get your application logs.

Here's what we need you to do:

  1. Enable debug logging:
    Settings -> General -> Advanced -> Logging level -> Debug.
  2. Reproduce the problem, then remember the exact time when it happened.
  3. Collect logs:
    Settings -> General -> Advanced -> Export logs and system info.
  4. Send this file to qa@adguard.com:
    • include [android] keyword and ISSUE_NUMBER in the subject of your email
    • specify the exact time when the issue occurred

@p6797 Seems that dns servers block the connection too.
