• How can I improve my English?

• How do I get started?

• How do I join a specific teacher’s class?

Go to the teachers page at http://www.colingo.com/teachers, click on the teacher of your choice and you will be able to see a list of all their upcoming classes.

• How do I join a specific level? When can I join the next class for my level?

Go to the classes page at http://www.colingo.com/classes. On the top left hand side of the page you will find a "Skill Level" filter. Select beginner, intermediate or advanced. You will now be able to "enter waiting room" for upcoming classes or "watch video" to see past classes.

• How to I join a specific skill set (grammar, reading, vocab, etc.)?

Go to the classes page at http://www.colingo.com/classes. Scroll down to the bottom left hand corner of the page and you will find a "Class type" filter. Select the option of your preference. You will now be able to "enter waiting room" for upcoming classes or "watch video" to see past classes.

• What is my level? What level should I join?

We're currently developing a Level Assessment Quiz that will be available soon. Meanwhile, watch a few classes to find out which level you feel most comfortable with.

• Does Colingo offer courses?

We will have courses available shortly. There will be specific classes for each of the four skill sets: Grammar, Reading/Vocabulary, Speaking/Listening and Writing. Those will be offered for each of the 6 proficiency levels: Beginner, High Beginner, Intermediate, High Intermediate, Advanced and High Advanced.

• How long are the courses?

They will be 8 classes in length for each skill level.

• What are the benefits of taking Colingo courses over other companies?

Because we're the most fun English community in the world! Try out a class and see for yourself. ;)

• Is there any form of certification I can get from Colingo?

That's coming up soon!

• Do I need to download anything?

Nooo! All you need is a Google+ account and an internet connection. It's that easy!

• What are the different ways I can take a class at Colingo?

1. You can join live classes through Google Hangouts if you have a microphone, a Google+ account and a decent internet connection. 2. You can watch live classes and chat with the rest of the class simply by signing up. 3. You can watch any recorded classes available at http://www.colingo.com/classes/recent.

• Where is Colingo based out of?

We are based out of San Francisco, CA. Come visit us! ;)

• How much does it cost? Is it free? What methods of payment can I use?

All of our classes are currently free of charge. In the near future we will also be offering premium courses at a very reasonable rate, and you will able to pay using credit card or paypal.

• Are the class times displayed in my local time?

Colingo shows all classes in your computer's local time. If there is something wrong, check your "time zone settings" and ajdust your computer clock.

• Does Colingo offer any language courses other than English?

No, we don't. We are focused on developing the best English learning experience to our students.

Technical Problems

• The Hangout doesn't work.

Go to the Google+ Hangout Help Page at https://support.google.com/plus/?hl=en#topic=1651184 and select the issue you are having. To learn more about how to use Google Hangouts go to https://support.google.com/plus/answer/1215273?hl=en&ref_topic=1698291.

• My camera / microphone doesn't work.

Go to https://support.google.com/plus/answer/1355579 and follow the instructions on the page.

• Why does the Colingo page freeze at login/signup?

If you are using Internet Explorer you will probably experience technical difficulties as we don't support it. For better results, please use a different browser. We suggest Google Chrome.

• My Colingo chat isn't working.

Refresh the page.

• If I have previously been blocked from a class, am I blocked forever?

You must contact the teacher that blocked you directly and ask him/her to unblock you.

• When I try to join a class, I get a message saying "Account not supported".

You will get that message from Google if you have registered your age as less than 18 years old. You must be older than 18 to join Hangouts on Air. If you are older than 18 and simply had the wrong birth date on Gmail, you need to create a new Gmail account with the correct information.
