Lauren Donovan
Lauren was raised right here in western Washington! The Eastlake Highschool graduate grew up in Sammamish but feels most at home at her family’s cabin on Lopez Island.
Lauren started her broadcast career while attending the University of Missouri in Columbia. Working at NBC-affiliate KOMU she did it all: editing video, making calls at the desk, producing, and eventually working her way up to reporter and anchor.
After graduation, she headed north to Iowa. While working at CBS-affiliate KCCI in Des Moines she received an Emmy nomination for her coverage of a devastating EF-3 tornado. As an anchor and reporter, Lauren also covered the contentious Iowa caucuses.
For Lauren, the biggest accomplishment of her career has been coming home. After spending seven years in the Midwest, she missed the Cascades and Puget Sound but above all her family.
For the past three years Lauren worked as a reporter at Seattle’s CBS affiliate. During that time she helped host SeaFair’s Torchlight Parade. Lauren travelled to the Palouse to cover the University of Idaho murders and was right there, microphone at the ready when UW Medicine received their first shipment of COVID-19 vaccines.
When she’s off the clock, you can catch Lauren on the ski lift, at the antique mall or challenging someone to a game of cribbage.
