Claire Anderson
Claire Anderson is a certified meteorologist who has been forecasting the weather around the country for over 10 years! Claire was born in Seattle and is a proud University of Washington husky! Growing up, Claire moved to Enumclaw, WA for elementary through high school where she learned to ski at Crystal Mountain, play tennis with Mt. Rainier in the background and played Varsity volleyball at Enumclaw High School.
Claire graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in communications and is a Certified Meteorologist through Mississippi State Broadcast Meteorology Program. During college, Claire was an intern at FOX 13 and spent her evenings chasing down the evening news story. She also interned at several other stations in Seattle before she graduated. After graduation, Claire moved to Great Falls, MT to work at KRTV as a Weekend Forecaster and reporter for two years. She forecasted thunderstorms, high winds and snowstorms. In 2014, Claire moved to Santa Barbara, CA as Weekday Weather Forecaster on KCOY-KEYT-KKFX for two years. There she covered California Wildfires, coastal oil spills, and Santa Ana winds.
Claire moved back to the Pacific Northwest in 2016 to work at KOIN CBS in Portland, OR as a Meteorologist. She forecasted weekends, mornings and evenings covering ice storms, record heat waves and wildfires. In 2018, Claire moved back to Seattle where she was a meteorologist at KIRO 7 News. During her four years, she led coverage of the historic Bellingham flooding, record heatwave of 2021 and numerous snowstorms.
Claire moved to Washington DC in April 2022 to work for FOX 5 DC as a Morning Meteorologist Monday through Friday. In the nation's capital, Claire forecasted severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, flooding and record heat. She reported LIVE for the FOX 5 Morning Show, which included the re-opening of the National Air & Space Musuem, behind the scenes of Cirque de Soleil, and played tennis in the stadium of the Washington DC Citi Open Tennis Tournament. Claire co-hosted Good Day DC where she interviewed numerous celebrities, chefs and hosted her own segments including fitness, cooking, and created "Claire's Picks" (Claire's favorite shows to stream that week!)
Claire moved back to Seattle in 2023 to get married, be closer to family and to work at FOX 13 Seattle. Claire got married in early September right here in Seattle and starting on-air forecasting for FOX over the summer! She is excited to be back in her home state, eat at her favorite local restaurants, go skiing in the Cascades, and most importantly forecast for the Pacific Northwest!
