Murder investigation underway after man found shot on I-10 in Phoenix
PHOENIX - Police are investigating a murder after a man was found shot inside a car along a downtown Phoenix freeway.
The incident happened in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near 7th Avenue on June 10 around 3:30 a.m.
"When troopers arrived, they located an adult male inside of the vehicle involved. Fire personnel began to treat the man for his injuries and noticed what appeared to be at least one gunshot wound that had been suffered by the man," Phoenix Police said. "He was transported to a nearby hospital where unfortunately he did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased."
The victim was identified as 39-year-old Lealdo Pedrego Tolano. He was driving a gray 2009 Ford Escape when he was found shot.
