Loop 202 reopens following deadly crash

A portion of the Loop 202 was closed for some time on Sunday as a result of a deadly crash that DPS officials say involved several cars. The crash happened near Loop 202 and 32nd Street, and the roadway is back open.

6 hurt in fiery crash near U.S. 60

Six people have been hospitalized following a fiery crash near the U.S. 60 and Country Club Drive. Authorities say multiple vehicles were involved in the crash, including a pool cleaning truck that caused a chemical spill.

Phoenix weekend freeway closures (Sept. 27-30)

Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between the Loop 303 and State Route 74 from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday for pavement work; westbound I-10 will be closed between the Loop 202 Santan and U.S. 60 from 10 p.m. Friday through 4 a.m. Monday for paving and a traffic shift; eastbound Loop 101 will be closed between 75th and 51st Avenues from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday for work zone set up and pavement removal; Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will be closed in both directions at the Loop 101 from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work; and Arizona Avenue will be closed in both directions at the Loop 202 Santan from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday for a pavement improvement project.

Broadway Curve project closes some I-10 lanes this week

ADOT is warning drivers that part of I-10 will be restricted overnight this week. Multiple lanes on I-10 will close overnight between Baseline Road and 40th Street. It's for work on the Broadway Curve project. Those closures start Tuesday, Sept. 24, and run every night through Friday morning.

Phoenix area road work is stressful, but necessary

It was another weekend of major freeway closures across the Valley, but they're all part of decade-long plans put into place. Proposition 479 will be on the November ballot. Pedestrian struck, killed on I-17

A pedestrian was struck and killed along Interstate 17 near Durango, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said. The victim was not identified.

NB I-17 sees weekend-long backups

FOX 10's Kenzie Beach has the latest as she spoke to neighbors about the backup on I-17 northbound in Phoenix. The backups aren't uncommon lately as there's a massive project underway to restore the stretch of highway, in both directions, each weekend.
