Anyone else all of a sudden losing IC Pro functionality? Today, I tried to open it and it tries to connect, sees my computer, then just goes poof on my iPhone and crashes. I haven’t changed anything with IC Pro. I deleted SKI Remote, reinstalled it, re-added it, shut down, restarted, deleted my Wi-Fi connection, reinstalled IC Pro, reinstalled Cubase 12…
I’m stumped. I can’t get IC Pro to connect and function. It will open on it’s own if Cubase is not open, and it will stay alive if I open it first, then open my project - but if I try to open the app and connect to an existing project, it crashes.
If anyone has any tips, or suggestions I may have missed, I’d sure appreciate it.

Hi @johnnybregar
Do you use Cubase iC Pro for iOS or Android?
Does it help to fully shut down the device (turn the device off), and does Cubase iC Pro works as expected afterwards?
Gave iC Pro a short check using the iPhone SE2, running Cubase 12 on the MacBook Pro, where things work as expected.
Thanks,
Lars
Thanks Lars -
I am on iPhone. I have tried shutting down and restarting all the devices. I believe it has something to do with my WiFi, but nothing has really changed. I rebooted my router and satellites, but it is still crashing. It does seem to work on my iPad, which is ok, but I’d love to get it working again on my phone for vocal takes.
I’ll keep trying to figure it out.
Thx,
Johnny

Hi @johnnybregar
The app works on your iPad but crashes on the iPhone?
You may check all the points of our troubleshooting article again, to see if it helps to resolve the problem on your iPhone:
Hope that helps to resolve the issue.

Thanks Lars - I appreciate your help.
I did try all of those things multiple times. It still disappears on connection. BUT sometimes it will connect. The most likely connection happens if I turn off WiFi on my phone, then turn it back on, sometimes it will connect. Then it is stable until I close the project.
Did something change on Apple’s side with the new iOS version? My iPad is running an older iOS…
Hi @johnnybregar
Thanks for your message.
There has been no changes from Apple to my knowledge. Unfortunately I’m also unable to reproduce the problem myself. iC Pro connects and works as expected on the iPhone SE2 together with Cubase 12 on the MBP.
Best,
Lars

Same problem here. iPad mini with Cubase 13. Shuts down just after starting up. It worked a few weeks ago.
There’s definitely something up - try toggling your WiFi and see if that works. If I do that, there’s a better chance of a successful connection.
Are you on a Mac? Which OS/Version?
Are you on WiFi with satellites? If so - what brand is your network? I’m on Eeros.
Just trying to gather some data…
I still believe there’s a bug somewhere - this went from being solid as a rock - to rarely functioning for me - the problem is that I don’t know for sure what changed. I don’t know if my wifi updated, or if my iPhone updated… But it’s really frustrating…

Hi @johnnybregar
Gave it a check myself with the following devices:
- Cubase iC Pro on iPhone SE2, iOS 17.3
- Cubase iC Pro on iPad 6 Mini, iPadOS 17.3
- Cubase 13 (13.0.20) on MBP 14-inch, 2023, Ventura 13.4.1
Cubase iC Pro works as expected on both devices.
Please give it a try if checking all steps mentioned in our troubleshooting article helps, resolving the problem.
Maybe a good starter is too fully shut down your iOS device(s) and WiFi router first.
Does this help?
Best,
Lars
Thanks Lars,
I’ve shutdown and restarted everything multiple times. I’ve even restarted WiFi satellites multiple times. I have gone through the troubleshooting steps multiple times.
Something has changed, but I’m not yet sure what. My WiFi has a base plus two extenders. It is possible that something has changed with that firmware and I need to investigate - but all my devices and computers seem to work fine. So just not sure what the issue is. I do know that my IC Pro app can see my computer, but when it tries to connect, it disappears. If I turn off/on the WiFi on my phone, it will connect most of the time.

Hi @johnnybregar
Did you fully shut down the iOS device (turn it off)?
Best,
Lars
Yes. Many times. All my devices have been completely shut down, and unplugged as well if possible, and then powered back up. Including the wifi. I just updated iOS this am, and I’m still experiencing the same behavior. I’m about to upgrade to Sonoma. I will see if that works. And you are awesome for sticking with me. Thanks.

I just experimented a bit with ic pro (latest releas) and latest cubase 13 pro on my silicon macs. Everything seems to be fine as long as cubase is just open on one machine. As soon as there are two machines with cubase running, ic pro opens up and shows the selection dialog very shortly but then disappears. When I close cubase on one of the machines and restart ic pro everthing works. Before the last update this didn’t occure.
That’s the exact behavior I see as well - but I only have one Cubase machine running. Hopefully my crash report will reveal something worthwhile.

I’ve just tried this on my latest iOS iPhone 14 and it does exactly the same. It finds my computer opens then just disappears. What is interesting is if you swipe up it’s not there which it would be when you open an app and close it. My iPad Pro is the same iOS (but for iPad) and it works fine as does my standard iPad on older iOS.
This definitely seems to be a problem on later phones. The ones you have tested with are older phones. By the way I’ve removed icpro completely then re-installed. I’ve done a hard reboot on my iPhone 14 which to do is: up volume-down volume then hold the right hand button in until the apple logo shows. Even after all this it’s exactly the same. Please look into this fully. Thanks

Hi @mkok
Please give it a try to fully shut down your iPhone, as explained in this Apple article:
Turn iPhone on or off – Apple Support (UK).
Does Cubase iC Pro work as expected, once you’ve relaunched the iPhone?
Thanks
Lars

Wow I’m surprised. It worked. In most other cases it needs the hard reboot to fix things but this worked. Thanks
