I’m using a tablet (vortex T10MPRO+) and the steinberg UR-22mkII and yhe sound is not normal. I tried using different settings etc and all the same issue. I have no issues with iOS.

Hi @EAST_49

Please let us have more details about your problem.

Best,
Lars

The issue I’m having is when I playback the track thru the interface, I hear nothing but a digital feedback of the track audio instead of the actual audio itself. I raised the buffer size hoping it would alleviate the issue, but no matter what I did, it was the same type of sound. When I don’t use an interface everything sounds normal.

Hi @EAST_49

Please make sure the routing is properly set, as shown in our tutorial:

Does this help to resolve the problem?

Best,
Lars

No this doesn’t solve my problem, the main issue is the playback from the tablet with cubasis le thru the UR 22mkII audio interface. Everything else works as it should.

Stupid question but is the daw/monitor knob turned all the way to daw?

Hi @EAST_49

Please let us have a short clip which demonstrates the problem.

Thanks
Lars

Alright, I’ll record the issue and post it.

this what I hear thru the interface

Have you tried both 16-bit and 24-bit options in Cubasis?

The output does sound a bit like when there’s a bit-depth miss-match and the raw bits (at wrong resolution/order) are fed directly to the DAC.
(16-bit is 2 bytes at once while 24-bit is padded to 4 bytes when fed to the audio interface).

Hi @EAST_49

In addition, please check if increasing latency (setup/audio) helps to resolve the problem too.

Thanks
Lars

I’m not able to switch the sample rate or bit depth due to the cubasis version which is a trial version so it’s stuck at 48/16 bit and also I maxed out the buffer and latency and it’s the same result, the sound I posted. I hoped it was like iOS where you plugged in the interface and no trial version, just cubasis le for that platform, that which I have and no issues whatsoever.

It should work with no issues unless it’s a software issue from my tablet and if that’s the case do you need the specs? And it’s the same exact issue with the UR-RT4 I have.

tablet specs
just in case you may need it.

Thanks!

Does the sound work properly thru the tablets built-on 3.5mm jack?
If it does it’s definitely some kind of bug in Cubasis that @LSlowak and his team needs to take a look at.

The sound clip that was posted definitely sounds like a bit-depth/byte-order mismatch…

That’s the funny part… the interface works well with YouTube, and whatever music I play thru it with the tablet, but as soon as I select cubasis le…

Yes, the audio is working properly with the built-in headphone jack on cubasis le.

Earlier today I updated my tablet to android 13 and tried to boot up cubasis le and when the track started playing a small yellow box popped up saying “low memory detected, please remove some of the instruments” or something to that nature and I couldn’t reproduce that warning again. I couldn’t screenshot or anything because it was unexpected.

Hi @EAST_49

The issue might be related to Google’s Oboe not supporting the audio device.
Your issue has been shared with our engineering to confirm, please await our feedback.

Best,
Lars
