I just purchased an iPad 10th generation with usb-c. Before I configured the new iPad, I checked Cubasis 2 on the old one and backed up my projects. I listened to them and they sounded good. When I opened the same projects on the new iPad, the sound quality was really bad. This went for the demo projects as well. I used my Jaybird Vista 2s just to listen to the projects, so I haven’t checked with a proper interface. However, other apps sounded as expected through the Vistas. Is there a problem with Cubasis 2 on a newer iPad? Would this be resolved with Cubasis 3?

Before buying Cubasis 3, I was using version 2 on a M1 iPad. Cubasis 2 was originally bought and installed on my old 2014 IPad Air. The sound was the same for me (but using the same interface, a Focusrite 18i8).

Hi @Torbiz1

There should be no sound quality issues with Cubasis. But the issue might be related to using Bluetooth phones with the iPad/app.

Please check if the steps below helps, resolving the problem.

Pre-Requisite

  • Make sure Bluetooth is activated in the Apple iPad settings, and that the Bluetooth device is connected to the iPad

Steps

  • In Cubasis: Enable “Bluetooth/AirPlay Output” located under “Setup/Audio”

If the problem persists, you may give it a try re-selecting the project “Sample Rate” (located under “Setup/Project”).

Please let me know if this helps.

Best,
Lars
