A research infrastructure for life-science data
ELIXIR unites Europe’s leading life science organisations in managing and safeguarding the increasing volume of data being generated by publicly funded research. It coordinates, integrates and sustains bioinformatics resources across its member states and enables users in academia and industry to access services that are vital for their research.
The partnership between F1000Research and ELIXIR enable ELIXIR members to achieve the following through publication of their research on this Gateway:
- All publications are assigned digital object identifiers, for ease of citation and linking to authors’ digital identifiers such as ORCID.
- Article-level metrics are transparent and available on each published article, allowing researchers to track the impact of their work.
- Following approval from the Advisory Board and pre-publication checks by the F1000Research Editorial Team, articles become publicly available and immediately citable, before then undergoing open peer review to enable full indexing. F1000Research articles are indexed in EuropePMC, which is used to maintain ELIXIR's publication indicator.
- Article processing charges are covered by the ELIXIR Budget.
- The ELIXIR Hub can help with promoting your published research via its communications channels (see for this example!)
- Publishing in the ELIXIR Gateway allows your research to become more Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable, as reflected in this ELIXIR-supported study.
