Few ways to address this missing deadline issue are: 1. Understanding whether it is a skill or a will issue? And addressing it appropriately. Skill issues have a clearer path though 2. Address when there is a genuine help needed and remote member is not able to get the necessary help for various reasons and address team dynamics issue, if any 3. Moonlighting - Depending on organization direction - addressing it appropriately. Personal opinion - not a recommended one

Dealing with a remote team member who is missing deadlines can be challenging, but can be addressed effectively with certain strategies: 1. I’ll understand the root cause of missing the deadline first whether personal circumstances, unclear expectations or something else. 2. Will define clear expectations about tasks and deadlines and make him/her understand the responsibility and the impact of their work on team 3. Encourage time management skills and help them prioritise task and manage workload effectively 4. Provide constructive feedback and provide support to helm the team member succeed

Remote work generally have a miss on togetherness feeling as a team more than one on one conversations ,we need to spend atleast 30 minutes sitting together and resolving each other issues , there by collective minds bring resolutions faster as well as team collaboration will improve virtually !

Remote work can mask underlying issues. Before jumping to conclusions, I've found having a one-on-one video chat crucial. Often, there are unseen challenges - maybe they're juggling home responsibilities or struggling with isolation. In our standups at Rally, we have a "challenges" section. The goal isn't to punish but to uncover and solve the problem together.
