Each programme furthers our mission and is underpinned by our comprehensive advice services, data and research, and understanding of the energy sector.
We deliver programmes in partnership with governments, businesses and like-minded organisations across the UK, Europe and internationally.
UK programmes
In Great Britain, we deliver the Energy Redress Scheme on behalf of Ofgem, which distributes voluntary payments made by energy companies that may have breached regulations. Many of our programmes in Scotland are funded by the Scottish Government, including the flagship Home Energy Scotland service, a network of local advice centres offering impartial, expert advice.
Other Scottish programmes include the Home Renewables service, Local Energy Scotland’s CARES scheme, the District Heating Loan Fund and Green Economy Fund. Energy Saving Trust also works in partnership with Scottish Water to help people who live and work in Scotland use water wisely.
We act as programme administrator on behalf of the Utility Regulator for the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP), which provides funding for energy efficiency schemes.
In Wales, we deliver two programmes on behalf of government – Nest and the Welsh Government Energy Service – in addition to delivering National Grid’s Power Up service across South Wales.
International programmes
Outside of the UK, Energy Saving Trust is a partner organisation in several programmes, including those working to implement energy efficiency policies. In partnership with CLASP, we deliver the Low Energy Inclusive Appliances (LEIA) programme, which aims to support the uptake of low energy technologies in lesser developed nations.
Within the European Union, we are part of the HACKS consortium, which aims to motivate people to replace inefficient heating and cooling equipment. We were also part of the Label2020 project, helping support the smooth market transition towards new energy labels in the UK.
Energy Saving Trust is a partner in several EU-funded Horizon 2020 projects, including the ENSMOV consortium, which aims to support the implementation of energy efficiency policies; the Concerted Action Energy Efficiency Directive (CA EED), which supports the implementation of the Directive on Energy Efficiency; the Concerted Action for the Renewable Energy Sources Directive 3 (CA RES 3), which exists to support the implementation of the Renewable Energy Sources Directive through structured and confidential dialogue; and the X-tendo project, which is examining features of the next generation of energy performance certificates.
