Introduction to
Weiß Schwarz
Weiß Schwarz is a trading card game where players relive climactic moments from their favorite anime or video games titles on their very own stage!
Types of Weiß Schwarz card
There are three types of cards: character cards, event cards, and climax cards.
Character Cards
- Level
- Your level must be equal to or greater than this number to play this card.
- Cost
- You must send this number of cards from your Stock to your Waiting Room to play this card.
- Card Name (Japanese)
- Use this name when referring to the card's original name in Japanese. (Cards from English Edition Original titles will be reflected in English.)
- Power
- Indicates the character's strength in battle. A higher value gives you a greater advantage when battling your opponent's characters.
- Soul Points
- Indicates the damage you will deal to your opponent. Each icon represents 1 point of damage.
- Card Name (English)
- The English translation of the card's name.
- Traits
- Indicates the attributes the card has. These are often referenced in card text.
- Color
- Indicates the color of the card. There are four colors: yellow, green, red, and blue.
- Card Text
- Describes the card’s abilities.
- Trigger Icon
- Activate any effects represented by this icon during trigger checks.
Event Cards
- Level
- Your level must be equal to or greater than this number to play this card.
- Cost
- You must send this number of cards from your Stock to your Waiting Room to play this card.
- Counter Icon
- Indicates that the card has an ability that can be used when your character is frontal attacked.
- Clock Icon
- Indicates that the card has an ability that activates when it is in your clock.
- Card Name (Japanese)
- Use this name when referring to the card's original name in Japanese. (Cards from English Edition Original titles will be reflected in English.)
- Card Name (English)
- The English translation of the card's name.
- Color
- Indicates the color of the card. There are four colors: yellow, green, red, and blue.

Climax Cards
- Trigger Icon
- Activate any effects represented by this icon during trigger checks.
- Card Text
- Describes the card’s abilities.
- Color
- Indicates the color of the card. There are four colors: yellow, green, red, and blue.
- Card Name (English)
- The English translation of the card's name.
Playmat
- ①Deck
- Your deck should contain 50 cards with a maximum of 8 climax cards.
Place your deck here face-down. You are not allowed to change the order of these cards in any way unless stated by an effect. Your deck refreshes when it runs out of cards.
- ②Level
- The number of cards here represents your current level. Both players start the game at level 0 and you lose the game when a fourth card is placed here.
- ③Clock
- The number of face-up cards represents your current damage taken. A maximum of six cards can be placed here and the order cannot be changed unless stated by an effect. You level up when a seventh card is placed.
- ④Stock
- The number of face-down cards here represents your total stock. You are not allowed to check the cards or change their order unless stated by an effect. Cards should be stacked on top of another and used from top to bottom when paying for costs. There is no limit to the number of cards here.
- ⑤Climax Area
- A maximum of one climax card can be placed here face-up. If a card is in this area during the end phase, place it into the Waiting Room.
- ⑥Stage Positions
- Place your characters here face-up. There are a total of five stage positions and this area is collectively referred to as the "Stage".
Center Stage: Characters on the three stage positions at the front can battle against enemy characters directly in front of them.
Back Stage: Characters on the two back stage positions cannot battle against enemy characters unless stated by an effect.
- ⑦Waiting Room
- Place removed characters and used events or climaxes here face-up.
- ⑧Memory
- Place cards here when stated by an effect. Cards should be placed face-up unless otherwise stated.
