Increased flu and COVID-19 vaccination recommended for risk groups in EU/EEA ahead of winter
Seasonal influenza and COVID-19 vaccination uptake for risk groups such as the elderly were sub-optimal in several EU/EEA Member States during the 2023-2024 season.
This issue of the ECDC Communicable Disease Threats Report (CDTR) covers the period 26 October – 1 November 2024 and includes updates on the severe flooding in Eastern Spain, SARS-CoV-2 variants, avian influenza A(H5N1), West Nile Virus infection, dengue, mpox, Marburg virus disease (MVD), and Oropouche virus disease.
