Regulation (EU) No 1093/2010 establishes the EBA and sets out its tasks and powers.

Our scope of action
The EBA acts within the powers conferred by its founding regulation and within the scope of the following legislative texts:
Capital Requirements Directive (CRD) | The EU prudential supervisory framework for credit institutions. |
Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) | Sets the capital and liquidity standards for credit institutions to decrease the likelihood of credit institutions failing. |
Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD) | A framework for the recovery and resolution of credit institutions and investment firms in danger of failing. |
Deposit Guarantee Schemes Directive (DGSD) | Rules that protect and guarantee up €100,000 of your deposits if a credit institution fails. |
Payment Services Directive (PSD) | The framework that helps deliver safe and innovative payment services for you across the EU. |
Electronic Money Directive (EMD) | Enables electronic money to be issued in the EU and protects its users. |
Financial Conglomerates Directive (FICOD) | Setting out sound prudential rules for larger financial groups operating across financial sectors. |
Funds Transfer Regulation (FTR) | Rules for funds transfers designed to protect against money laundering and financing of terrorist activities. |
Payment Accounts Directive (PAD) | Setting rules on comparing fees and switching between accounts used for day-to-day transactions. |
Mortgage Credit Directive (MCD) | Enabling residential mortgage services across the EU and protecting borrowers. |
Consumer Credit Directive (CCD) | Sets the rights for consumers and helping make informed choices when taking out credit |
Anti-Money Laundering Directive (AMLD) | Rules that combat money laundering and to improve the fight against crime and terrorism. |
Interchange Fees Regulation (IFR) | Caps fees for card-based transactions within the European Union. |
Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR) | Framework for regulation and supervision of crypto-asset service providers and issuers of crypto-assets |
Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) | Strengthening IT security of financial institutions including oversight of their IT providers |
