WFU EV Display Report to NDEW

On Saturday, October 12, 2024, the NC Clean Energy Technology Center Clean Transportation Team hosted an electric vehicle tailgate for the Wake Forest University versus Clemson football game.  This event took place beside the Bridger Field House ticket office inside Allegacy Stadium from 8 am-1:30 pm.  Those displaying vehicles consisted of dealership participation from North Point Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Parkway Ford and Volvo of Winston-Salem.

Vehicles included two Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s that were Plug-in hybrid and a fully electric Mustang Mach-E and XC-40 Recharge.  Roughly, 50,000 people attended the football game.  Two advertisements ran during the game highlighting the services that the NC Clean Energy Technology Center provides, one in the first half and the other in the second half.

Wake Forest University also did a large social media push, reaching over 2,000 people. Overall, the goal of the display and public service announcements are to raise awareness about the environmental benefits and potential cost savings of purchasing electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
