The core purpose of the Alaska Department of Public Safety is "Public Safety through Public Service." This Department is dedicated to providing the finest police service possible and adheres to "Accountability" as one of its core values. In order to continue to provide quality service to the State of Alaska, we need your assistance. This is your Department and we welcome your comments. We encourage you to let us know about the quality of service you receive from our employees.
If you believe that the conduct of an employee was commendable, you may let us know by writing a letter to the Commissioner's office or to the Commander of the local Detachment in your area. You may also complete and file a "Notice of Employee Conduct" form on-line (PDF). Verbal commendations may also be given to any Department supervisor.
If you believe that the conduct of an employee was inappropriate, you may request to speak to a supervisor at any post or office, or to a member of the Office of Professional Standards. This will result in the timely investigation of your complaint. You may also complete and file a "Notice of Employee Conduct" form on-line (PDF).
If you are unable to access the on-line form, you may contact the Office of Professional Standards (OPS).
