Abstract
Two genes that code for a hapten-specific immunoglobulin M (IgM) have been introduced into the mouse germ line. The transgenic antibody represents 10–50% of the serum IgM and is expressed on the membrane of B cells. B-cell hybridoma lines show that a negative feedback inhibition of μ and κ transgenic products on the immunoglobulin heavy-chain rearrangement is possible.
