Dessau Middle School is proudly an AVID National Demonstration Campus, offering a transformative program for motivated middle school students. AVID prepares students with essential academic skills, college readiness, and career exploration through interactive learning, writing development, college visits, and community engagement, fostering leadership and academic excellence.

House System

Our school features a house system with four houses, where each student and staff member belong to, each with a unique identity and colors. This system fosters a sense of belonging, friendly competition, and camaraderie. Students earn points through various events, developing leadership skills, building relationships, and enjoying diverse and inspiring activities.

One of the best things about our girls attending Pflugerville ISD is the Dual Language program that reinforces their Spanish language. Having two young children in public school almost guarantees that their home language would be replaced with English. Having the option of continuing their Spanish development at school is such a benefit.

One of my favorite things about our school district is the cultural diversity we have. It is one of the most diverse school districts in Central Texas. For me, that creates an environment where we can truly learn from each other. Where our children are learning from people who may not look like them, may not be like them and have so many differences, but we find our commonalities.
