Logic boards comnpatible with 2009 Mac Pro CPU tray ?

Hi, I have (2) 2010 Mac Pro 5.1 & (1) 2009 Mac Pro 4,1

I want to upgrade the hardware on the 4,1 computer.

I tried using the Firmware upgrade tool but have been unable to

complete an upgrade.

When I reboot my computer starts the firmware update then black screen and reboots never completing the firmware upgrade process.

I questions are ?

1) can I upgrade the logic board from a 2010 or 20012 and put it in my 2009 Mac ?…..Will it work with the 2009 CPU tray ?

The CPU tray I have is a Dual Quad core Xeon CPU tray from my 2009 Mac Pro.

So basically I want to upgrade my 2009 Mac Pro by Swapping out the Logic board with a 5,1 logic board and using the old 2009 CPU tray.

Is this possible ?
