Trying to relink old clips (640x480) with improved (1280x960)

Hi, I try to rework old libraries (old footage) with in Topaz Video AI improved videoclips.

But it not seems to work ? Relinking doesn't work. I always become the error 'The video frame rates don't match' while this is not true.

Some tips to help ?

There’s probably not a setting to fix this. FPS numbers like 25.05 or odd numbers (other than 29.97 and 23.98) usually means that it’s recorded at a variable frame rate, likely some variation because of the length of time to process the media. This is only fixable by recompressing the file to a fixed rate using Compressor or some other app. If you use ProRes you should see no loss in quality.

OK. That brings me to the following questions :

  • Are there any settings in Topaz Video AI that you can manipulate (there are a lot of settings options in version 5, but I don't understand them all) to force to the correct FPS ?
  • Are there other programs to fix the FPS ?
  • The main question for me is : If relinking is not possible, are there other ways/solutions/work arounds to improve your old FCP libraries without starting from scratch all over ?
