Copy relative formula between sheets

In theory, setting the Preserve row and column to off on references in a formula makes them relative.

However when copying a formula with these options set to off between sheets using headers, the sheet::header reference remains absolute. As a result, it still pastes "SHEET_NAME::header" instead of just "header". The only way to do this that I know of is cumbersome:

  • Set preserve options off
  • view formula as text
  • copy text
  • view destination cell formula as text
  • paste text

It's obviously not ideal as very slow, and I'm sure Apple planned something more efficient to paste relative formulae between sheets.

Anyone know how?
