Shortcut to zoom in on a single clip?

I probably wouldnt need this if Final Cut wasnt so buggy with zooming. I presume everyone else struggles to zoom smoothly using mouse wheels or trackpad? It seems to zoom out, then in... then slow, then fast.

Anyway, onto the point of this post, I use the Shift-Z shortcut frequently, to fit the whole video sequence into the timeline. But I feel like there is a shortcut missing, it's quite obvious and I am hopeful it exists already, in that it zooms the timeline to fit a single clip into the timeline?

So if I have a clip selected in the timeline and press a key, id want it to focus right in on that clip. This would be so useful for many reasons

Cheers

As Tom said, you should use feedback.

I have no problem with the trackpad, or with Command-plus and Command-minus.

An alternative which I have never used, but may be helpful for you is to use the Zoom tool.

Press z (without any modifiers), and then click to zoom in or option-click to zoom out.

Not exactly what you wanted, but it seems that it maintains the playhead in the screen, so you can relatively quickly zoom in to an intended target.
