I tested it out!! and I found your answer, turn on bluetooth and stay on the bluetooth settings on your iphone, then go to your mac bluetooth settings (you can access it from the top i think or the settings) to search for devices, then you'll find your iphone, and just connect to your iphone using your mac via bluetooth.
I'm not completely sure about my answer but you can try it.
