Reduce intensity of Looks?

Typical Looks in FCP have dozens of different parameter adjustments which is fine.

However, if I find a Look which is just right out of the box except it's a little too strong, is there a simple way of reducing the global intensity?

Just look at all these variables . . . there are "Mix" controls but they are all set variably by default so it's not just a matter of a single control that you can dial down to say 50%.

Off the top of my head and being away from my mac: perhaps it would work if you were to stack two copies of the clip, apply the effect to the top clip, and adjust the opacity to try and mix with the original?

Most effects have a one main Mix slider to balance between the effect and the original, which is what you'd want. Unfortunately, this one only allows you to Mix the individual sections. I just tested it in an Adjustment Layer template and tried using the Opacity slider, but it also blacks out the original clip that way. It's just gonna work to get what you want, unfortunately.
