Is there a way to shut off Smart Charging for AirPods and iPhone?

I plugged in my AirPod case with the AirPods inside at 11 PM last night. At 9:30 AM the AirPods themselves were only charged to 82%. I think the case was at 93%. And there was something about Smart Charging. How is not fully recharging in 10+ hours Smart? I’ve seen this happen when I’ve hit the 10% battery level and received a warning, but charging seemed again ridiculously slow. (I also get this on my iPhone if I forget to plug it in until the middle of the night, say 3 AM, and it tells me how long its going to take to finish Smart charging.

Is there a setting I need to change?
