I want to pair my Mac Studio 2023 M2 Max running Sonoma 14.2.1 with a Mac Mini Late 2014 running Sierra so they share keyboard, mouse and (preferably)dual monitors ( I could settle for just one shared monitor). Can KVM switches recognize the Apple Magic keyboard or would I have to go back to a wired keyboard?
What are you going to use the 2014 Mac mini for...?
If you are going to use the 2014 Mac mini to run older software..?
Then set it up as a separate desktop unit, instead of chaining it to the Mac Studio.
If you are going to use the 2014 Mac mini for like a File or Media Server..?
Then set it up as a headless unit and access it from the Mac Studio using File and Screen Sharing.
To answer your KVM question' No you would need to use a wired USB keyboard and mouse.
I take it that Universal Control is out of the question, because the version of macOS on the Late 2014 Mac mini is too old. It would have to be running Monterey (12.3 or later) for Universal Control to work.

I'll be using the Mac Mini for older software. Right now it is set up as a separate desktop unit, but I was hoping to reduce the amount of equipment on my desk. I was hoping that I could use a KVM to allow the Mac Mini and the Mac Studio to share keyboard, mouse and monitor.

May I ask why you would suggest keeping them separate? I'm certainly open to leaving things as they are if using a switch introduces problems. More clutter but less headaches seems wiser if that's the case. Thanks.
Personally I would look around for another place to setup the 2014 and keep them separate.
If you choose to share the same display, keyboard and mouse with both Mac's. Then Yes that is correct.
