I use my icloud notes on my iphone and in my work computer (PC) through the icloud website. Yesterday something changed, I don't know why, but if I use my icloud notes through the website, it doesn't save - I just see it in the right corner "Saving" but never "Saved" and it doesnt sync in my iphone. The syncing is turned on in settings and I dont know what to do.
Same issue here too, only it's been happening for many months. If I open the note I can type exactly 1 thing and it will save, (technically say "Edited"), but the second I pause, even to go and correct a typo, it immediately says "Saving..." and never saves. It's incredibly frustrating as I do all my meal planning and grocery lists in Notes. I type it all up on the browser version and access it on my phone at the grocery, and my iPad when cooking. It has screwed me over at the grocery so many times.
I have attempted using a different browser and that doesn't fix it. I have attempted creating entirely new notes (instead of using the same one and updating it), and that doesn't fix it. It is beyond ridiculous from Apple that something this simple continues to be broken. I live or die by my notes, as I always say, and for them to repeatedly fail this spectacularly is incredibly frustrating.
I've discovered the issue based on reading other posts on this - essentially iCloud on website doesn't save notes that are too big. So what I've done is had to split notes into smaller ones and now it's working. Annoying but that's the only solve I've seen that works consistently...
Yes very disappointing notes are not saving. I do my note editing on my PC, easier. When this happened the first time a few months ago I edited over an hour or so in my work hours. Only to find when I logged out, saying not saved. OMG. Lost so much time. I tried 3 different browsers, at home and work. It's an apple thing. May be I've got to buy an Apple computer, ha.
I just tweaked a couple notes from the web browser and ... they saved! However, back to my note that is full of a checklist and no good. That is a coincidence to another thread I started: With a note of checklist lines I try to edit (backspace) on my iPhone or iPad the cursor jumps from where it was clearly blinking to somewhere else--and edits in the new, random location.
No luck here. I made a few edits, walked away for ten minutes and it's still hung up on "saving", even after several minutes have passed.
Meanwhile I've been using Google docs instead. Pretty soon I'll stop using the Notes app completely if I can no longer rely on it.
I've been having this issue for over a week now and I think this is a limitation imposed by the backend system. The web page appears to be attempting to save and it is successful for the very first edit I do each day (which in my case is updating a date in the entry I use for notes), but after that nothing saves. This seems like some sort of limit is being hit and I'm being throttled. It might be Apple throttling because they intend for Notes to be used from the app, and the web is just a convenience.
For what it's worth...I created a new note today and everything saved fine multiple times (going back and forth between my PC and phone).
All of my old notes still stick at saving if I update them on the PC.
So...copying the text in the old note to a new note looks to be a plausible work-around.
I have been having this problem also for a little while and came here to see if anyone else was. I got curious and logged into icloud notes from a Chrome Incognito tab and it all worked perfectly.. so apparently some cache issue? I have a lot of these website glitches involving Chrome and cache... so it might not be apple. Login incognito or clear your cache and it should all work.
I believe the issue seems to be resolved. Anyone else having luck?
Save is a trial feature,we make a big decision to disable it.
I'm having the same problem for a few weeks as well.
It actually is saving, but the web page does not refresh. Once it goes into the Saving... mode, click refresh on your browser. It is maddening, but a workaround, nonetheless.

July 20th and it works for me, too!
It has been working for me since last week too. BTW, if you encounter the issue again, you can just click the refresh button on your broswer when it says saving... You don't need to copy and paste.
