Websites loading as mobile versions in Safari
This question has been asked before: Why does Safari insist on loading some websites as the mobile version making them impossible to navigate or even unable to open?
The answer given previously was:
"To disable the "Request Desktop Site" feature on Safari on your MacBook, follow these steps:
- Open Safari on your MacBook.
- Click on "Safari" in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
- Click on "Preferences."
- Click on the "Advanced" tab.
- Uncheck the box next to "Show Develop menu in menu bar."
- Close the Preferences window.
This will prevent Safari from loading mobile versions of websites by default. If you ever want to switch back to the mobile version of a website, you can still do so by holding down the "Command" key and clicking the refresh button on the website you want to view the mobile version of.
Alternatively,
While on the website which loads mobile version, click and hold the refresh button on the address bar.
This will bring up a menu, there select "Request Desktop Site".
This will only apply for the current website you are in and does not set it as default.

Firstly, there is no "Preferences" item in the drop down menu of Safari. There is a "Settings" item which I'm guessing is the same thing???
Secondly, once in Settings, there is an "Advanced" tab but once in there, there is no sign of any "Show Develop menu in menu bar" to uncheck or check????
Can someone explain either where this menu/preference item is and if it doesn't exist then how do we stop bloody Safari from this annoying problem it has!!!
Thanks
