My IP address is not in the UK! National Lottery and Safari

I can't get into the UK National Lottery website now because they think that my IP address is not in the UK. I am in the UK. By telephone, the National Lottery has advised me that I should use another Browser as there are problems with Safari.

I know that Apple is trying to protect our privacy but making us unidentifiable to the sites we use is more "incognito" than we need.

I use Safari Safe Passwords so I can't remember them and gave negative answers to a long series of security questions requesting a digit in a given position. I managed to get into the National Lottery Help section by repeatedly saying "No" to about twenty requests and the computer decided to get someone to speak to me.

If only "Mystic Meg" was here to help. Here is a screenshot of the page the National Lottery is showing me.

I've found the answer: when visiting a site in Safari that has the problem: choose View>Reload and show IP Address

This happened to me, very frustrating…I could get into my account on my iPhone….but not iPad as it said I’m not in the UK….I tried all sorts….then I went onto settings on both my iPhone and iPad to see if I had everything matching on both…..on my iPad I clicked on safari in settings and found that I had hide my ip address from tracking and websites, on my phone I had hide it from tracking only….so a quick swipe onto tracking only on iPad and voila I could get into my account on lottery….simple as that

If you're trying to access the UK National Lottery website (https://www.national-lottery.co.uk/) or use the Safari browser, it's possible that certain services or websites may be restricted based on your IP address or location. The UK National Lottery website is primarily intended for users located within the UK, and some online services may have country-specific restrictions or requirements.

If you're outside the UK and wish to access the UK National Lottery website or use Safari, you may need to consider the following options:

  1. Virtual Private Network (VPN): A VPN service can help you bypass location restrictions by providing you with an IP address from a different country. By connecting to a VPN server in the UK, you can mask your actual IP address and appear as if you're accessing the internet from the UK.
  2. Proxy Servers: Proxy servers work similarly to VPNs by rerouting your internet traffic through a server located in a different country. However, they may not offer the same level of security and privacy as VPNs.
  3. Local Alternatives: If you're unable to access the UK National Lottery website, you can explore local lottery options in your own country. Many countries have their own official lottery websites or authorized retailers where you can participate in local lotteries.

Regarding the Safari browser, it's a default browser on Apple devices and is widely used. However, if you're experiencing any issues or limitations with Safari, you may consider trying other web browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Opera to access the desired websites.

Remember to use any online services and websites, including lottery platforms, responsibly and in compliance with the terms and conditions set by the respective providers you can see .

No one here in this user-to-user forum can do anything about your IP address. Nor can Apple. Contact your internet service provider.
