Deletion of attachments in text

unable to delete pictures or attachments in text message history the delete button where to select button works but when you do so nothing deletes please help

iPhone 13, iOS 15

Thanks for replying, CrazyGrandma2, and that additional info. Looking at this Apple resource, the section titled "Find attachments from a conversation" has some positioning on how to delete attachments:

Use Messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

I am sorry I guesss I wasn’t plain enough… I cannot delete pics under the name on texting I select show all them select then delete and they do not delete! This is after I have clicked under the picture of who’s is sending the text. NOT IN BODY OF TEXT MESSAGE! TIA

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to delete attachments in the Messages app on your iPhone. To do this, please follow the deletion steps in the section titled "Share, save, print, copy, or delete a message or attachment" in this Apple resource:

Send and receive photos, videos, and audio messages on iPhone
