Blockchain isn't just about crypto currencies. It is more or less a data base technique to produce a digital ledger.
By "stacking" information encrypted on top of previous data and making it part of the new encrypted block it is practically nearly impossible to forge with existing data because this will result in an invalidated encryption for all later data blocks.
Applications for blockchain:
- currencies like bitcoin, but also user currencies
- all forms of assets
- secure data storage
- multi user consent workflows
- supply chain management
- many more
If looking for applications and a framework to utilize blockchain from within Tiki we maybe should look at Hyperledger. An outline for an application idea is here: citation
