The Perfect Couple is Netflix‘s latest super smash hit, nabbing a whopping 20.3 million views in just its first four days of streaming on the platform. People all over the world have been watching the bonkers murder mystery show, dissecting its incredible Meghan Trainor dance sequence, and thirsting after the incredibly handsome Shooter Dival (Ishaan Khatter). We’ve lusted after Merritt Monroe’s (Meghann Fahy) incredible wardrobe and dreamt about enjoying a Tanqueray and tonic on a Summerland balcony like Greer Garrison Winbury (Nicole Kidman) and hubby Tag (Liev Schreiber). Some of us might even have started our first rewatch of The Perfect Couple! All of which is to say, will Netflix make another season of The Perfect Couple? Will there be a Perfect Couple Season 2?

The Perfect Couple is an adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand’s novel of the same name. The six-part series follows the drama that ensues when a dead body is discovered on a wealthy Nantucket family’s estate the morning that zoologist Amelia Sacks (Eve Hewson) is set to wed the rich and handsome Benji Winbury (Billy Howle). The murder investigation soon dredges up all sorts of tawdry secrets and terrible revelations for the Winbury clan and their allies. Ultimately, we learn who killed Merritt Monroe and why, but there are still a few unanswered questions. Namely, what comes next for Amelia and her love life? And what about Greer and her new novel? What’s going to happen to Abby’s (Dakota Fanning) baby?

The Perfect Couple was intended to be a limited series, but could the show return to tackle a new murder mystery? Here’s everything we know so far about a Perfect Couple Season 2 on Netflix…

Will There Be a Perfect Couple Season 2 on Netflix?

The Perfect Couple was designed to be a stand alone miniseries, but that doesn’t necessarily mean Netflix couldn’t greenlight a second season. In an interview with Town & Country, Perfect Couple creator and showrunner Jenna Lamia expressed interest in a Season 2.

“If all the elements came together and everybody was enthusiastic and the idea was inspiring enough to gather the same group of talented people together again, I think it’s something that’s possible,” Lamia said. “I would never say it’s impossible.”

When Decider spoke to Perfect Couple star Ishaan Khatter last week, he even teased he’d like to return if only to further explore the connection between Shooter and Amelia. “But yeah, I mean, I would be down for [more Shooter and Amelia] if there’s a Season 2…” he told us.

So Shooter’s on board. Now we just need to hear from Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning, and the rest of the cast.

When Will The Perfect Couple Season 2 Premiere on Netflix?

If Netflix chooses to go ahead with The Perfect Couple Season 2, it might be awhile before we’re all back at Summerland. Production on The Perfect Couple began in March 2023, meaning it takes well over a year to make a season of the show.

Considering the fact that Jenna Lamia doesn’t seem to have written scripts for a second season yet, the earliest we could expect The Perfect Couple to go into production would likely be early 2025. Meaning a potential Perfect Couple Season 2 would probably hit Netflix in 2026.
