This week on VOD there are several great new titles to choose from, including the Scandinavian thriller What Remains, the Rachel Sennott film I Used To Be Funny, and Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski pairing up with loads of other A-listers for IF.
Krasinski not only stars in IF, he also wrote, produced, and directed the film about a young girl named Bea (Cailey Fleming) who meets a man (Reynolds) who helps pair kids up with new imaginary friends, a.k.a. IFs. The live-action cast also includes Fiona Shaw and Liza Colón-Zayas, and the stacked voice cast features Steve Carrell, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, George Clooney, and Matt Damon.
These are just a few of the films that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now.
What Remains
Stellan Skarsgard and Andrea Riseborough start in the new thriller What Remains (not to be confused with the 2022 Anne Heche movie of the same name). In the new film, a man who confessed to a series of murders (Gustaf Skarsgard) works with his therapist (Riseborough) and a detective (Stellan Skarsgard, Gustaf’s real-life father) to uncover the truth behind the killings. The film was co-written by Megan Everett-Skarsgard, Stellan’s wife, and is inspired by real-life events of Thomas Quick, the notorious confessed killer in Sweden.
I Used To Be Funny
Rachel Sennott stars in the dramedy I Used To Be Funny as a comedian who nannies as a day job for a family with a daughter named Brooke (Olga Petsa). As Sam becomes enmeshed in the family, things get complicated and eventually Brooke goes missing, leading Sam to head out to find her. The film is more drama than comedy, so be warned, this is a much darker Rachel Sennott than you’re used to.
