The Division of Criminal Justice provides assistance to state and local agencies in the criminal justice system by analyzing policy, conducting criminal justice research, managing programs, and administering grants. Our mission is to improve the safety of the community, the quality of services to crime victims, and the effectiveness of services to offenders. The Division of Criminal Justice announced, in partnership with the Colorado Bureau Of Investigation, being awarded the prestigious 2024 Adam Walsh Act Implementation Grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (OJP).
In September, the Colorado Department of Public Safety hosted its inaugural Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives Interstate Law Enforcement Collaboration in Ignacio, Colorado, led by Colorado’s Office of the Liaison for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives.
