First Call is the first step to entering Domestic Abuse Project’s (DAP) therapy, advocacy, and case management programs. First Call staff can help someonelearn about DAP’s different programs and register for services over the phone.

DAP’s Victim Survivor Program works with adult survivors of domestic violence to help them understand abuse as part of a larger systemic issue and to heal from abuse. Their therapists address mental health issues that result from experiencing domestic abuse, which often include anxiety, depression, PTSD, suicidal thoughts, sleep disturbances, and emotional detachment.

Their Intervention and Prevention Program serves adult individuals that use abusive behavior with group and individual therapy. Most participants attend a 24-week program that includes psycho-education and therapeutic process sessions. Group therapy facilitators work to frame the issues of domestic violence relative to larger and more systemic contexts that impact the use of violence.

DAP also offers youth services including early childhood therapy, individual therapy, group therapy, and caregiver support services for youth and their caregivers who have experienced or witnessed domestic violence in their homes. Through their Advocacy Program, they assist domestic abuse victim/survivors in navigating complicated legal and social service systems during times of crises in order to find safety. With their Case Management Program, their goal is to reduce the barriers to long-term stability, such as employment, housing, and childcare.
