Intermittently Getting Water:

Is this ever or always in your pocket? If so, condensation from sweat may have gotten in there. It's happened to me. So, now I use an OtterBox, and that is been a successful avoidance, for many years.

No. iOS 18 is beta software, meaning it is still in the phase of development. Lots of bugs, I’m sure, exist in it.

So, get this serviced, as in instructed by Kurtosis12, at your local Apple Store.

Charger and Adapter:

No. The charging brick would l play no role in this. As for the cable, if there's any water on the adapter and you inserted it, then that is possible, yes. What may occur when it comes to the the charging bring is short-circuit occurring.

You have water damage done to your phone, updating the operating system will not fix physical damage.

Take it to the Genius Bar for diagnosis.
