captive portal login not possible

MacOS Sonoma 14.5, on M2

i live in a suitcase, stay at hotels more often than not.

In some, still encounter the DECADE old MacOS problem of not being able to log into hotel wifi, because the OS doesn’t bring up the “captive portal” login page!

in same hotels, my iPad or even Android don’t have this problem!

none of the solutions I see online work currently- perhaps they did in previous versions!

has anyone read any official statement from MacOS developers about which decade or MacOS version they plan to get this fixed?!

Since they can’t, or they “have more important issues” year after year, or they just don’t care about a few business users periodically offlined by this nonsense, perhaps it’s time to open source related code, and see if lesser geniuses not working for Apple can figure this out.
