Missing Disk Space after failed Boot Camp Partitioning

Tried to make a 128GB partition for windows 10 using bootcamp. After a little while I got the message that bootcamp failed to create the partition. Now there is not even enough space left to try again. This is what I see in disk utility. what gives?

FYI, there is a command line option that may work to merge the "free" space item back into the main APFS Container of macOS. Here are two posts which may help.....if you still have a Windows partition showing instead of an item called "free space", then you will first need to delete the Windows partition before you can merge them (just makes it easier).

Here is a template you can use to delete the Windows' partition to make it into a "free space" item.....the commands are specific to the user's system so the instructions will need to be modified a bit:
