Third Apple Watch in two months that stops working after swimming. Have been using water lock and that hasn’t prevented any issues. Any suggestions? Have hard reset, re-paired, and it keeps happening. Should I be looking at other brands that can handle leisurely lake swimming? My spouse’s watch has no issues.

About Apple Watch water resistance - Apple Support
The built in seals should keep the Apple Watch water resistant. The Water Lock only keeps the display locked during swimming, and disabling the Water Lock after the exercise will expel the water from the speaker and microphone openings.
be sure to check on apple's official website about how deep of water it can go with its resistance, also bear in mind that it isn't water proof, but water resistant.
