i can’t update from ios 16 to ios 17.5 its stuck on update requested for days. I tried resetting setting everything but nothing changed can you please help me

That won’t happen, as iOS 17.5.1 is no longer available.
You should be able to install the current iOS 17.6.1, with iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone SE 2nd, or newer.
Force a restart, and restart your Wi-Fi router, and try again:

Hold that third button press past any sliders that might appear, holding until the Apple logo appears.
Then remove any add-on VPN apps, and any add-on security apps, any existing beta, and try updating again:

Which iOS updates are available depends on the iPhone.
Settings > General > About will show the iPhone model and the currently-installed iOS version.
iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone SE 2nd gen, and newer, can get to iOS 17.6.1 (current) and (real soon now, today) to iOS 18.
I’d probably wait a few days to maybe a week before installing iOS 18, if you need your iPhone to work. See what happens with your most important apps and features first, and then decide to update.

If nothing else works, use a Mac or PC to update, or bring it into Apple and ask for help.
If you have access to a computer then try updating there. If you're on a Mac then connect with cable and open Finder window. In the sidebar click on your phone and perform a Sync. This will back up your phone to the computer. Then click on Check for Update button and follow prompts.
