Separating from a shared apple ID

My partner and I had a shared Apple ID and just recently created a new one for my partner. We are now set up in Family Sharing. The apps on my partner’s phone transferred to the new Apple ID but requires the old Apple ID to update. I have read that they should delete the app and then reinstall using the new Apple ID.

My question is: with apps like Fanduel where there is money associated to the app, but requires an email address to log in, will they still maintain their bets/money once reinstalling the app and signing in?
