How long should I expect my Apple Watch battery to last when it is 4 years old. I purchased the series 5 in 2020 and now the battery barely lasts a day. Have to charge morning and evening. Is this normal or I need to buy a new watch?

Here are some suggestions for minimizing battery drain during the day.

83% after 4 years is quite good. Batteries will naturally degrade over time. I’d recommend checking out the link Dah•veed mentioned, as well as this page.
That seems about normal. My series 4 lasts about that long, depending on use. What’s the battery health on the Watch? You can find it in Settings > Battery > Battery Health.
