Homekit Siri requires three or four requests to perform a function

Recently (over the past few weeks), Homekit Siri requires me to repeat a request three, four, or five timest before it responds. These are very simple requests I have made hundreds of times over the past few years, like “Siri, turn on the lights”. Some times Siri responds with “at what time?”. Making the same request “Siri, turn on the lights”, Siri responds again and again with “at what time?” This is a very noticeable change in Siri behavior. What’s going on?
