Apple TV Buffering

Having an issue with our Apple TV - We can’t get through a show with out it buffering, but it’s only happening on Apple TV it’s self. Netflix, YouTube ect all work fine.

We’ve checked the connection, checked the speed, lowered the quality, reset the box, deleted things to make more space (there was plenty of space on there anyway) and plugged an Ethernet cable in from the router to the box, but nothing has resolved the issue.


Is there anything else we can do?

My Apple TV 4K (Purchased within past 2 weeks; new) is also suddenly having issues across the board. Disney+ is now completely unusable and Netflix keeps crashing. Load times are very long and it will often crash mid-way through an episode while watching Movies, TV Shows, or Netflix and return me to the Home screen for no reason.


My only solution so far (which only works for a little while) is to switch from my wi-fi signals (2.4 to 5ghz then, when it junks out again, go back). It is if I am having an issue with the Apple TV networking/internet signal falling out.


I have owned very many Apple TVs over the years and I like them very much. This is an actual issue.

There seem to be a lot of issues with Apple TV+ which aren't being looked at. I've been watching it on my Roku and have gotten buffering during almost every show. I've done all of the things that have been suggested in the canned responses (restarting router, etc) but that doesn't help, and I've seen plenty of other reports of this same problem. It's not worth wasting my time watching when it's going to do this (Central Park was a great show but not when it suddenly freezes in the middle of songs!) and certainly not going to pay for it when my free trial is up. And yes, all of the other apps I've been using have not had this issue. (Having the rating appear onscreen at the beginning is also completely unnecessary- I've been pausing the show until it goes away.)

The issue would be within your network and just because other things are working does not rule that out. In fact those other services adapt to the connection whereas Apple uses a fixed rate and their service also streams at a much higher quality. This is a support forum so of course there will reports, but if the service were actually the issue it would be widespread and easily replicated.


You would have to not only look at what your current internet connection is but also investigate your local network. However, if your intention is only to rant then it seems unnecessary to assist any further.
