1-day media accreditation to the European Commission

Visiting journalists without an annual or 6-month accreditation can obtain a one-day badge for the European Commission press area (not valid for the European Parliament or Council).

How to apply

Non-accredited media representatives can obtain a one-day badge to the press area.

Journalists requesting this one-day accreditation need to send an email at least 24 hours prior to the event they want to attend to COMM-PRESSROOM-TEAMatec [dot] europa [dot] eu (COMM-PRESSROOM-TEAM[at]ec[dot]europa[dot]eu), attaching:

  • National ID card or passport (non EU-citizens must provide a passport) You will need to show the original document when you present yourself at the security desk.
  • Valid national press card or a press card issued by the International Federation of Journalist
  • Or, if you don't have a valid national press card, a scanned copy of a letter by your editor-in-chief or an official email from your head office confirming that they request access for you for that particular day/event.

In either of the above options, the European Commission reserves the right to refuse granting temporary accreditation if the specified deadlines are not respected or if the documents provided do not correspond to set requirements.
